Derek Morgan was the type of person who was always up to some trick or scam and he once stopped the entire town square. He must have been working for or doing something in the town hall as he suddenly appeared on the roof. At the top of his voice he shouted out “ I can’t stand this any more and I am going to jump”

He repeated this a few time as a crowd started to form below him to watch his antics. This went on for a while until some wise person shouted back at him “For f**k sake jump and get it over with. Just as quick as he had appeared he disappeared back through the window, the show was over.

One of his trusty companions in anarchy was Harry Thompson, they never ceased to amaze the local shopkeepers with their requests.

They went into a bakery in Regent Street and asked in a loud voice “ Would you have two dozen buns please” Yes of course was the ladies reply thinking that she was going to make a good sale, “Silly old bat, you should not have made so many”

Mr. Hanna the shoe mender in Regent Street also suffered when they went into collect a pair of shoes “What were these shoes like” was the question that started a whole debate. Every shoe in the place was produced but still their particular pair had not been found. As a last chance Mr Hanna asked when they had left them in for repair, Derek thought about his answer, “Oh it must have been about 1950” They both made a quick exit from the shop.

I can also remember that there was also something they did with a packet of Polo mints. I think that it came from an advert on telly but I can’t think of what it was.
